The lights are on
A presumed glitch that allows players to gather infinite resources in Dead Space 3, is actually not a glitch at all, according to developer Visceral Games.
The "glitch" was discovered by GameFront (which you can see below), and it allows you to completely bypass the option to purchase resources with real money, if you so desire, by farming one random resource that infinitely respawns. GameFront reached out to the developer and it replied that the ability to infininitely gather resources was not a glitch, and it won't be changed in a future patch.
“The resource-earning mechanic in Dead Space 3 is not a glitch. We have no plans to issue a patch to change this aspect of the game. We encourage players to explore the game and discover the areas where resources respawn for free. We’ve deliberately designed Dead Space 3 to allow players to harvest resources by playing through the game. For those that wish to accumulate upgrades instantly, we have enabled an optional system for them to buy the resources at a minimal cost ($1-$3).”

Not that there's any particular reason you'd need to farm for resources. The game already throws them at you pretty liberally. But go ahead, stick it to the man!
It sucks to buy but its a great game and i would gladly support Dead Space 3.
Fair enough.
This is on all difficulties?
Hahah nice. So nice.
That is kinda.. cool actually.
Visceral's passive-aggressive response to EA's push for microtransactions.
Yea, this feels like a workaround by Visceral for those stupid micro-transactions
That's pretty confenant, kind of.
If you do a lot of back tracking (which you can do in every stage) and you'll find resources appearing so not a big deal... and if you think about it the mircotransactions are pretty useless :/ well maybe for some people.
Although in impossible you'll find less/amount resources compared to other difficulties. (I played my first gameplay on impossible man that was crazy but enjoyable :) )
