Square Enix Registers Possibly Legacy Of Kain Related Domain

Square Enix recently registered warfornosgoth.com, which should be familiar to anyone who has played the Legacy of Kain series.

All we know is the name of the domain at the moment, which doesn't offer many clues, but Nosgoth is is where the Legacy of Kain series takes place. And Square Enix is the current owner of the Legacy of Kain intellectual property, so if there were to be a new entry in the series, it would be coming from them.

The last we heard of anything Legacy of Kain related, was in the form of DLC for Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light.

Hopefully this means there will be a new game. Especially if it ends up being a reboot. Those games kinda have a pretty complicated mythology that would be difficult for new players to get into. Plus the last game came out like 10 years ago, so most old players probably forgot most of the story anyways.

I'd love a reboot OR a remake. I really diged the atmosphere of these games, unfortunately though I never played it to the end (wasn't that kind of gamer back then).. but watched the opening cinematic for soul reaver with my mind blown probably 2 dozen times.

A reboot is unnecessary. The protagonist is a vampire that evolves, so they can change the gameplay mechanics as they see fit. The storyline has been heavy on the time travel, so they can switch eras at will. A retelling of the tale would be a mistake, since so much of it relies on the surprises, such as Kain not choosing to sacrifice himself and Raziel being the soul reaver. Besides, last we left off in Defiance, Kain got a glimmer of hope as he escaped fate and discovered free will. There's so much that can happen at this point.

i'd be intrested in a new game for it . i played a little blood omen 2 on xbox back when and it wasn't horrible from what i recall, altho the older games seem better from my understanding of things.
