The lights are on
One-time Wii U exclusive Rayman Legends was delayed yesterday to reportedly make the game a multi-console release. Some fans didn’t like the decision, and Ubisoft announced via its Facebook page that Wii U owners will receive an exclusive demo.
No date is set for when the demo will hit, but many of the comments on the post are from upset gamers, with many of them unhappy with receiving a new demo.
Earlier today an anonymous developer wrote on a Spanish-language forum that the team was working overtime in order to make the February release before being told of the seven-month delay.
Game Informer editor Kyle Hilliard also expressed his disappointment with the delay, commenting that it will hurt the console’s health.
Seriously, Ubisoft? Who do you think we are? You're seriously giving us a 20 minute demo to get us to calm down about a delay for a completed game that we want THIS MONTH. Just give us the game already!
Just release the game. I don't want the added content. I want the game tat was going to be released later this month, the one that's finished. Ubisoft can suck a fat one.
While i feel it is fair that the ps3 and 360 will be getting this game and other gamers will play it i think that it is also unfair not to release the wii u version as planned ahead of the other two consoles. A demo is great and all but i can't understand why they chose to go this route it is just stupid from their part
They don't have to worry about us, there's too many good games to play. They should be more concerned with the developers who worked on the game and possibly their shareholders.
I just hope the game sells well, i really liked Rayman Origins and i would like to see more of Rayman in 2D.
He's not anonymous. Zeta69 is Xavier, the guy at the stage on the last E3.
come September this game will get lost in the sauce and Ubisoft will miss out on my money
I'm wondering how much money Ubisoft will lose when people start cancelling their fully paid preorders and put that money on other games. By the time the game comes out 7 months from now some of those people may go back and preorder it again, or will preorder or buy something else that they have been looking forward to. It astounds me to see just how Ubisoft keeps screwing up it's business practices more and more. I don't even own a Wii U (YET) and am in no rush to get one for a while. I do however sympathize with the people who bought a Wii U just for this game only to get delayed for more than half a year and get another demo, which seems more like salt on a wound.
A demo? Really? That's the best they could do? I hope the new Mario is out by then and with the new consoles coming out as well, i hope this game doesn't sell worth a damn. Corporate greed...
Loss of an exclusive does not endanger a consoles health, it is a sign of it, sorry guys.
I understand everyone's frusteration at this, and am dissapointed that it won't be a Wii U exclusive, but the optimist in me is hoping that at least the game will be a well-polished product when it is released.
i still need a wii u
We will receive an "exclusive" demo???? I downloaded the first demo back when it was "exclusive" to the Wii U. Why should I care about another "exclusive" demo??? No thanks, I'll pass.
