Rayman Legends Coming to PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, Wii U Version Delayed

Today Ubisoft announced that not only is Rayman Legends coming to Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in early September, but the Wii U version will also release at the same time.

The Wii U version was set to release on February 26, but now it's being pushed back to September. This news is disappointing for Wii U owners who saw the release window in their grasp.

In a press release, Geoffroy Sardin EMEA chief marketing and sales officer at Ubisoft said the company made the decision after hearing from many Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 owners about their desire to play the game, ”We decided to give the fans what they wanted while at the same time broadening the audience exposed to this innovative and memorable game.”

Rayman Legends isn't ditching the look and feel of its predecessor, but is adding new gaming modes, characters, environments, and soundtrack. And of course, expect the graphics to tantalize even more this time around.

How do you feel about the news? Were you planning on picking up the Wii U version?

  • Oh happy days! I wonder how they will implement GamePad gameplay features though.
  • It sucks for the Wii U that it is being delayed, but I for one am glad to see it come to multiple platforms.
  • This has to be a joke....
  • Still am picking up the Wii U version. It will probably be the best version out of the 3.
  • There goes my primary reason to get a Wii U. I just hope they don't launch it against another gigantic release like they did with Origins.
  • Good. Ubi knows this is better for business. But bad for Nintendo losing a fairly known game for a exclusive.
  • There goes that exclusive.

  • Wii U = Deep Doo Doo
  • As a Wii U owner and fan of the demo: SCREW YOU UBISOFT!
  • Man.. I'm glad I'm not one of the Wii U owners wanting this -_-
  • I don't mind it becoming multiplatform, but to delay the Wii U version 19 days before release is a ginormous Dick move on Ubisoft's part
  • So people were mad it was an exlusive for Wii U? What was it like 1,000 people? I mean to be honest it was a great game (the original) but didn't sell well AT ALL, I mean really AT ALL on the other consoles so why would they push the release back on the Wii U version and release it the same time as the other consoles? Just release the Wii U one when you were supposed to and release the other ones in September, why push back the Nintendo release date as well? Also after playing the Demo there is NO WAY I could play this on another console since this game was built from the ground up for Wii U.
  • I was looking at this game to be a reason for me to pick up a WiiU. Oh well, I still am going to pick one up later this year. The future, in terms of games, does look bright for it.
  • Lol

  • That is very disappointing news for Wii U owners :/ But I am happy it is coming to 360, but it gives me yet another reason to not want to purchase a Wii U.
  • This sucks for me. I have this pre-ordered for the Wii U. I am stoked that all my buddies get to play it, but I'M still pissed.

  • Well who saw this coming? EVERYBODY!!!
  • *** it.

  • Hmmmm... Suspicious.... This news comes right after Iwata said they will cut expected earnings on the Wii-U and after the announcement of Nija Gaiden 3 wii u version coming to all other consoles as well..... Maybe Nintendo said they are not selling like they hoped for and third party decides to go multiplatform and delay Wii U game's launches until the install base gets bigger in order to get a bit more chances on a profit....
  • Now that I think about it, I may never buy from Ubisoft ever again. This is *** ***.
