The lights are on
Update: As alluring as the list below of potential Steam titles is, it looks like the Halo games won't be among them.
GameSpot has a comment from a Microsoft official who says, "We currently do not have plans to release any Halo titles on Steam."
Hopefully that thinking changes.

Original Story: According to a post at NeoGAF, Halo 3 and a slew of other games may be coming to Steam. The poster was perusing Steam’s database of game content, coming across the list of possible future releases.
It isn’t clear which games could really make the jump to Steam. Some like Fez make sense as the title was planned to be ported, but entries like Halo 3 are over five years old. Games listed to the database don’t always make it to release.
Meanwhile, Yogventures! and Octodad: Dadliest Catch have been Greenlit through Steam Greenlight, and will appear on Steam in the future. Here’s NeoGAF’s list:

i can't wait for 'the witness.' yes, please!
Wow Microsoft, way to be a c*cktease. As a Steam user, I appreciate this.
wow, why would they shoot it down? Money......come on...
will be getting fez and res evil revelations for sure, can't wait. microsoft is obnoxious in their online presence. like how they have an ancient size limit on games that can go on the xbox store thing
Am happy this not happening MS needs to keep all their console games exclusive to their systems. but if the feel like putting of the indie game in a store it should be in the Windows 8 store no where else.
Cmon, they had some games for XBOX Live on it before. It qould have been a great distribution mechanism for them.
Yay! Halo 3 on PC!
to be able to play halo 3 and have servers would be great
honestly if they were smart they would go n release them on steam .. idk how many ppl care anymore but either way it would give them a wider amount of ppl who would possibly buy it.
Microsoft are a bunch of fools if they think it helps them to not release Halo titles on Steam. What else are they going to do with the first trilogy? Hide them under their bed?
Funny
Does Microsoft not realize they would rake in so much money from a Steam release of Halo 3?!
I don't really a see a reason they need to release it on Steam. Sure, I guess it would be nice, but I highly doubt many people would buy it. Anyone that is even remotely a Halo fan or wanted to play Halo 3 would have bought an Xbox many years ago when it came out. Halo 3, at this point, is nothing but a dated game with a decent story. Mods would probably save it for a little bit, but in the long run, I don't see a point in porting it over.
I love Steam, especially when they have sales, I just throw the money at the screen when that happens.
>_<
That is awesome, I am so happy that Steam is getting bigger and bigger all the time.
