Microsoft Shoots Down Halo Titles For Steam

by Louis Garcia on Feb 05, 2013 at 02:34 AM

Update: As alluring as the list below of potential Steam titles is, it looks like the Halo games won't be among them.

GameSpot has a comment from a Microsoft official who says, "We currently do not have plans to release any Halo titles on Steam."

Hopefully that thinking changes.

--------------------------------------------------

Original Story: According to a post at NeoGAF, Halo 3 and a slew of other games may be coming to Steam. The poster was perusing Steam’s database of game content, coming across the list of possible future releases.

It isn’t clear which games could really make the jump to Steam. Some like Fez make sense as the title was planned to be ported, but entries like Halo 3 are over five years old. Games listed to the database don’t always make it to release.

Meanwhile, Yogventures! and Octodad: Dadliest Catch have been Greenlit through Steam Greenlight, and will appear on Steam in the future.

Here’s NeoGAF’s list:

  • La-Mulana
  • The Splatters
  • Octodad: Dadliest Catch Beta
  • Duke Nukem 3D: Atomic Edition (Duke Nukem 3D+)
