The lights are on
According to the official Gears of War: Judgment Facebook page, the game has gone gold and will soon be ready for consumer consumption! Seen above is the development staff celebrating their victory.
For those unfamiliar with the term, going gold basically means the game is ready for mass printing. It means all the development on the game is complete, and now they just need to place it on a couple hundred-thousand discs.
Gears of War: Judgment releases March 19, for Xbox 360.

I was excited for another Gears game, but Judgement has undergone such drastic changes in the multiplayer that I am just not interested in buying it anymore. I might just rent it for the campaign.
Which of course means that the game is 80% complete and they're working on their disk locked content now while neglecting the many glitches that will necessitate a convenient day one patch.
After reading some of the comments, I'm worried as well. I haven't played GOW3 yet (I will buy it soon!), but Gaurdian is my favorite game type and I am angered that they didn't put it in. I don't have the money to buy this game anyway, so I'll just wait until it goes on sale.
Huge fan of GoW but at this point I am burned out on the series. Sadly my friends have already pre-ordered so I might end up getting it as well.
Nice I preordered yesterday.
I may not get this upon release, but I'll be picking it up eventually. The first 3 were pretty good, despite what the critics have said.
Good to hear. Now we just have to hope shipping isn't screwed up.
Looks like I'm going to have to start selling my body again to pick up some of the new releases coming up.
"Couple hundred thousand discs". Ha, THAT'S funny!
there'ss black guy in the development team! That gives me hope
This is good news because Epic has lost a lot of its talent in the past year. I do have to say that I am a little burnt out on Gears though so I won't be rushing to get this one any time soon. I'll probably wait until it has a price drop or two.
I loved the first game, gorgeous graphics and excellent gameplay, it was the main reason I bought a 360 back in 07. I was so exited when the second game came out; smoother gameplay, more engaging story elements, for me it was like the Empire Strikes Back or Mass Effect 2. I really thought EPIC upped the ante. I played, finished, and enjoyed the 3rd game. It definitely lacked any gameplay innovation whatsoever but was still an enjoyable and conclusive wrap up to a fun story. Now here comes GOW: Judgement. Excited? *sniff sniff* I smell a developer trying to make a quick buck. I already know how the Locust Horde is defeated and I already know the toll it's taken on humanity. For numerous reasons I believe this will be the worst selling and lowest reviewed GOW game to date. Put it in stone.
