Dead Space 3 DLC Announced

Dead Space 3 has just come out, but already fans can look forward to more from the game thanks to newly announced DLC.

EA says that in March fans can expect the Awakened DLC pack. The company is light on details at the moment, but says that "players will experience the franchise's darkest chapters as the Necromorph battles become even more gruesome and terrifying than ever before."

Awakened will be available on Origin for PC and PS3 for $9.99 and on Xbox 360 for 800 Microsoft Points.

For more on the game, check out Tim's glowing review.

  • Hrm, from the sound of that, it's more story content? Sounds interesting.
  • Was hoping there'd be details about the fact that the thumbnail for the article has Isaac sporting N7 themed armor haha
  • Crazy! the game just came out and they are already talking DLC. Oh, well this Necromorph won't be complaining. :)

  • S*** that's a high cost. At least I now know the DLC is coming to PC. No reasons to not a PC copy now.
  • Didn't Dead Space 3 just come out today? and I'm glad to see content for the game out so fast, I guess?

  • Gotta love day one DLC!
  • So this means more story content and not just a costume/map/weapon pack? Just take my money and be done with it.
  • It's been interesting seeing the disparity in reviews from GameInformer and other outlets for some of these recent games. GI was down on Ni No Kuni, but that was raved. Tim loved Dead Space 3 but I haven't found many other reviews that share the enthusiasm. Nothing wrong with the differences, but it makes my job a little tougher! I think I'll probably wait on this one until used copies spring up.
  • Just beat the game about 20 minutes ago. I need more.
  • Wow. DLC already? That's cool.
  • Ea strikes again!

  • Sounds interesting, picking up the game later today

  • Yet another piece of content I won't be using.
  • Quite descriptive there EA.

  • I feel like they are simply holding back this DLC so they can't be accused of RELEASING day 1 DLC. Sorry EA, this is still day 1 DLC...maybe should have held off on that announcement. Anyhow, day 1 DLC does not bother me too much because I really don't bother with DLC much at all unless I wait and buy a game when it is discounted/on sale etc. $60 is the limit to what I'll pay for a game. Well aside from MMOs, you got me there gaming industry!

  • Ridiculous. The game JUST came out. Now they want to milk another $10 out of people? What's more ridiculous is that people will readily hand them their money. So disappointed in the industry for this very reason. This content (being as it is so close to the release date of the game itself) Should have been in the game at release. I guess it really does just boil down to whatever the market will bear.
  • Typical EA shenanigans. Milking the consumers for all they are worth.

    Enjoy your $70 incomplete game.

  • Of course...

  • Wasn’t expecting to hear about DLC this early.

  • That is cool.
