Hacking Is The Star In Quadrilateral Cowboy

The creator of popular indies Flotilla, Gravity Bone, and Atom Zombie Smasher has served up an interesting video for his equally interestingly titled game, Quadrilateral Cowboy.

The sandbox game tasks players with hacking their way around the world. According to an IGN interview with lead developer Brendon Chung, players will have to use a programming language to solve puzzles.

Those who want to become a hacker in Chung’s new game can do so this year, though an exact date hasn’t been pinpointed. The trailer below shows some of what you’ll be hacking into, and introduces players to the overall vibe of the game.

  • This looks fun?
  • That is insane. It actually looks really cool. But imagine something like the Saints Row 3 hacking level (the one when you become a toilet) except that is an entire game

  • Programming to solve puzzles? I can see this being used in schools.
  • Would like to try this once it comes out.

  • Okay-I know this music, I just can't put a name to the piece. Anyone know the name of the music for this trailer vid??
  • Game releases.... no one buys it.

  • Game releases.... no one buys it. (BECAUSE REAL HACKERS GET WHAT THEY WANT FOR FREE) But in all seriousness.... I wouldn't at all call those previous games "popular"
  • Well, given that amount of hacking these days, it doesn't hurt to cash in on the subject. Just hope this game doesn't receive some hacker retribution and gets itself hacked. . .

  • I'm interested.

  • Claire de Lune; one word mainsream, thanks to twilight... That llok like c prompt.
  • Looks kinda cool.

  • Reminds me of that other PC hacking game Uplink.

  • Win.

  • nice! i wanna buy that!

  • I was reading about this the other day, looks very promising. Also is it just me or does this game look like if portal and minecraft had a baby that was gifted with the knowledge of computer science.
  • Seems pretty cool

  • Isn't hacking illegal? Oh well, better practice for when I do it in real life(sarcasm).
  • Looks really cool, reminds me of a more in depth version of the hacking from enter the matrix.
