VR Missions Coming Exclusively To PS3 Metal Gear Rising

Last June, Kojima Productions' Yuji Korekado said that Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance's DLC would "allow you to play maybe as a different character or some new missions." Turns out players will get both, but as of now, only in the PlayStation 3 version of the game in North America.

On PlayStation Blog, Konami's Dalton Link says that the PlayStation 3 version is getting exclusive DLC that offers 30 VR missions and the chance to control a Dwarf Gekko within them. The VR Missions are a bit of a Metal Gear staple, allowing players to train and hone their skills in challenge stages.

Link says that pricing details will come a later date. Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance is scheduled to release on February 19 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

I am just going to assume the PS3 version is getting this because... I actually have no idea why, my only thought is that since the Xbox version is cancelled in Japan, the PS3 version inadvertently became their main focus?

Im just glad this game is coming to xbox! I mean, I have them both but...jesus why the heck havent I bought any games for my PS3? Theyre all just exclusives and HD collections. I have about 70 360 games and about 8 PS3 ones. I might have to buy this for PS3 out of sympathy

Own both consoles, love the series but will buy it on Xbox anyday. PS3 just isn't a console that I enjoy playing games on this generation. I loved Uncharted/MGS4 and thats it.

Not really surprising since Metal Gear has been with Playstation since the late 90's. Nobody is getting shafted here in my opinion, we all get VR missions but PS3 owners just get a few more.
