Temple Run 2 Bursts Past 50 Million Downloads

Imangi Studios' Temple Run 2 has been ridiculously successful in a short period of time. The game was downloaded more than 50 million times in 13 days since it was first released on iOS January 17.

Since then, the game has been made available on Android and Kindle devices. The speed at which it hit the 50 million download mark makes it the fastest-growing mobile game ever, surpassing Angry Birds Space's previous record of 35 days.

  • but its not even that fun
  • Wow. Judging from these pictures, it looks like Crash: WoC.

  • It's not as un as the first one.
  • Wow. I wonder how far it can go? At this rate 100 million seems entirely possible if not probable.
  • i really don't understand why people or game developer cares about download times that doesn't mean *** OK its been downloaded 50M but out of those 50M how many deleted right away? i know i did this game suck so bad and sooo dam boring they should be tracking how many people still play it or still have it on there phone compare that to those 50M and i bet it doesn't even pass 2M ok 2M is a lot for a game like this but is nothing close to 50M i downloaded this game and deleted like 10-15mins latter i bet my download is in those 50M but i hated the game and played it for 15mins max that not good so i hate wen i see developer get all exacting about download lmao give me a break
  • Free. I have it because its free. Played it for 5 mins. Stopped. If it would have cost even $1 I wouldn't have purchased it.
  • It's entertaining and has a lot of improvements over the first one (camera doesn't shift when sliding etc)
    It's still glitchy, though.
Powering up items with Gems tends to reset on Android. Not sure if this happens on iOS but it's annoying.
And double objectives - 2 of the same appeared at the same time for me a few times.
I can care less on the objectives thing, but a game depending on leveling up stuff and resets your meter is blah. My advice? Save those Gems for "Save Me" ^.^
  • Fine then! I'll download the game, sheesh!
  • 50 million downloads...But only three "in-app purchases"!  Congrats!

  • I have playing games like this with touch screen controls. This is one area I can see systems like Ouya and the Game Stick having a slight appeal.

  • The free thing really boosted the likability meter. I love the game, but I wouldn't have bought it. I do think it is an improvement over the first, and that in the very least makes it worth playing. It's addictive, band like a lot of iOS games, you just want to do better all the time. If you can just beat that score.

  • If its free? how do they make money?
  • With good reason too. It's so addicting! O.o

  • sad thing is the game is horribly glitchy and freezes and crashes all the time.

  • What has the world come to?

  • Lool, I love this game, but all my stats got reset...
