Is this the first sign of a new Square Enix franchise? Let's hope so. Fusible spotted two domain registrations created on January 29, both registered to Square Enix. The registrations were for bloodmasque.com and bloodmasque.net.
Obviously, domain registrations aren't confirmation of a new game, but it's frequently the first sign of a new franchise. No other details about this story are known as of this writing, though some are speculating that the name "Blood Masque" indicates this new property might have horror or vampire elements.
We have contacted Square Enix about this story asking for an official statement.

I'm pretty sure this is gonna be a iOS game. I hope it isn't but I bet it is.

Everyone wishes SE would do *something* be it a remake, HD version, more games for suchandsuch series. They have their own ideas on what people want, and your dreams are there for them to destroy.

Square needs to really get off its pedestal and being so "top secret' the company i onced loved from the 90's is now just a mockery. yeah i said it, im sick of this 0.0! registered domain hype machine that doesnt mead diddly squat, all it means is SQ is coming out with something again hoping the West picks up and makes them money. SQ needs to get with the program they've totally missed out on a generation of gaming, guess all that tweaking with new CGI is going over to the ps4 cause right now.. besides sleeping dogs and deus ex... SQ is weak!!!!!!!!!! No justice, No Peace, Until Star Ocean is released!
SquareEnix is a joke now. They just spew out junk that capitalizes on old franchises. I doubt that this is truly something "new", but another bad cliche'd JRPG.
Deus Ex 2 for this gen or another subtitled one with either Jensen or somebody new please.
