The lights are on
Lara Croft is no stranger to comics, having had a run of 51 issues released by Top Cow comics from 1999 to 2005. Now, Square Enix's adventure heroine will star in a new comic that's being released in conjunction with the upcoming reboot of the Tomb Raider franchise.
Entitled Tomb Raider: The Beginning, the graphic novel will set up the events that transpire in the game. Apparently, prior to the game, Lara is involved with an archeological-themed television show. We're pretty sure that nothing will go tragically wrong during the taping of the show. The comic will be free to those who preorder the game at Best Buy; no word on whether it will be available at retail.
The comic book is penned by Rhianna Pratchett, who also wrote the script for the new game. Dark Horse is publishing the book.
Email the author Matt Helgeson, or follow on Twitter, and Game Informer.
hope this gets released as a standalone comic and not just a preorder bonus
R.P. does some good work, so no doubt the story will be decent. However, if this game is Lara's intro into adventure/grave robbing, then it seems a little strange to have a comic about when she was just a rich college kid.
Lara's looking a lot cleaner in that screenshot. Frankly, I would just assume that there probably wouldn't be anything that would go wrong with her tv show, given that the events of the Tomb Raider reboot game is supposed to be the VERY first time she ever faced a life-changing test. Probably still a boon to keeping the comics alive, though.
Pfff, i'd rather ask for a Doujin with big titties than a comic.
