The lights are on
"I think video games is a bigger problem than guns, because video games affect people," the senator from Tennessee told MSNBC in response to a question about proposed gun control legislation that would require universal background checks.
Words fail me.
Failing the ability to live in a world where viewpoints like this weren't part of the political mainstream, I'd settle for a world where people like Senator Alexander had legitimate, good-faith discussions with folks like Adam Sessler instead of grandstanding about how (to uncharitably paraphrase the Senator) guns don't kill people, video games kill people.
It's idiots like these that give a bad name to Republicans. It just shows how far disconnected these people have really become from the popoulace. *shakes head in emberrassment*
Here that everyone?! We all are going to become mass murders because we play video games. GTA told me to kill cops, God of War told me rip people in half, and Call of Duty told me to shoot at everyone.
I guess anyone can become a politician if they let this dumbf**k be one.
Bad parenting is worse than video games, guns, violense, sexual perversion, drugs abuse and all evilness in the country because none of those will negatively affect anyone if a good parent has done his/ her job....
the only upside is that my faith in humanity can dip no lower, so this affects me very little
Right. Video games affect people, whereas guns provide entertainment. Wait. That seems backwards
This is just sad. I could type a whole paragraph about it but this sums it up. Sad.
and how don't guns effect people?
yea because guns don't affect people. Guns ELIMINATE people...
"Words fail me."
I can't think of anything else to add, this sums it up perfectly.
This finger pointing at games is just so annoying to me. Tens of millions of people shoot their friends and strangers online everyday, and a few of them shoot real people. How is this cause and effect? The statistical probability of games correlating to real world violence is so low that it is incomprehesible to suggest some sort of relationship.
Politicians seriously need to stop pointing their fingers at only video games. They need to take all possible factors into consideration, not just one they feel can be easily exploited (which in this case just so happens to be video games). Unfortunately, I have a feeling that they'll never have a revelation like that.
Yes because video games can kill with each pull of the trigger.
What the...... I just got an ignorance induced nosebleed.
I'm gonna be so happy when literally none of these politicians that are bashing video games get reelected. Pretty much every study done on how many people play video games in the U.S show that more than half the population does. Good luck getting elected when more than half the population definitely won't vote for you.
so guns don't affect people?......is this a joke or something?
Well, I currently attend school in TN, and people here say stupid sh*t like that all the time. Not surprised.
