The lights are on
The former host of X-Play gives an excellent take on the role of video game violence on social ills live on Fox News in this must-watch YouTube clip.
Sessler brings up excellent points about the long history of concerned groups seeking censorship of every form of media from opera to comic books. Seeing a figure knowledgeable about the medium speak coherently about video games and violence without falling into any traps about "murder simulators" or similar is a breath of fresh air, to say the least.
Who should Sessler debate next? [UPDATE: Lamar Alexander, perhaps?]
Kick their @$$es Sessler!
"YOU CAN DO IIIIIT!!"
I think we could count on Sessler to make a good argument, it's worth mentioning how rational and unbiased Fox news came across in this interview. Unprecedented and appreciated!
This is fantastic! Good job Mr. Sessler!
I miss hearing his stutter :(
Good one. The problem with some older generations is they just do not understand gaming. They see it as something for little kids. Of course you don't want kids playing games like call of duty, etc. That's why there is a rating system. Unfortunately, like many gun laws, they are not enforced.
Sessler, I have to say very well done. One of the most eloquent and informed discussions I have seen on this subject recently. I also have to give credit to Fox. Finally, someone asking legitimate questions to an individual with the experience and insight to answer for the underrepresented point of view. The anchor didn't even interrupt. I'm amazed.
There was no "setting Fox News straight" at all, in my opinion. It seemed like an actual interview. He brought a calm, collected demeanor to the table, and had coherently backed up his answers. No arguing, no yelling, just a clean, coherent interview. Good job on Adam's part.
Wow, Adam Sessler is actually far more intelligent then he pretended to be in X-Play.
Spoken well. Fox News very rarely presents opposing viewpoints when it comes to criticism of violent games. Of course, they may continue tomorrow hosting people who see violent media as a defiance of moral values, and therefore considered for restriction over guns (neither should be, imo), but at least here they are presenting themselves as balanced, and deserve some respect for it.
That was awesome!
Awesome! Intelligent and well spoken. Great job, Adam!
Well done Mr. Sessler.. Well done indeed :)
Que the Fox News rants...
Ah yea, less go Big Adam boy!
sage man Mr. Sessler is.
I think this should(not that it will) settle the debate about video games and their connection to violent events.
