The lights are on
The former host of X-Play gives an excellent take on the role of video game violence on social ills live on Fox News in this must-watch YouTube clip.
Sessler brings up excellent points about the long history of concerned groups seeking censorship of every form of media from opera to comic books. Seeing a figure knowledgeable about the medium speak coherently about video games and violence without falling into any traps about "murder simulators" or similar is a breath of fresh air, to say the least.
Who should Sessler debate next? [UPDATE: Lamar Alexander, perhaps?]
calm and insightful, well done mr. sessler
That was an excellent discussion, Sessler did a great job. It makes you wonder... why can't the politicians comprehend this.
We need more of this put out there during the news where more and more people can hear and see it and realize where the main responsibility lies.
Great job and I really liked how he worded everything as it really points out that hey "parents, its up to you"!!
He nailed it when he said that competition brings out the aggressiveness. Spot on, sir, spot on.
YES! i knew someone and i were preaching the same thing to everyone! This makes me day! Mr.Sessler, we have the same mind!
Wow, kudos to Mr. Sessler! He may be one of the best gamers out there (along with Geoff Keighley) that can speak for the industry the best. Man, I really miss X-Play...
is it just me or was that the most reasonable fox news reporter you've ever seen?
Video games don't kill people, people do, it's the choice of a human to commit the wrong doings, besides, mentally dysfuctional people should have more control on what they play, watch, hear or even do, most of the time it's the mental people who commit these attacks, everyone knows not to show their kids where the guns are in the house, come on parents, are you *** stupid?
woot! that was perfect.
Thank you Adam Sessler for giving us "zero credibility" gamers a voice!
GJ man GJ
Very nicely done Mr. Sessler. Thank you for representing gamers so well!
I really don't feel anyone will be "set straight" by that commentary. The title of this news story is about as misleading as most of Fox News's sensationalism. Fight fire with fire I guess...
He brings up a lot of good points, I think this should make people who hate video games think more about it.
Adam is always right and well educated on the subjects. People need to get a brain and common sense about games, follow the ratings that is why they are there. Also he looks a little pissed, very tense.
My respect for Adam has gone through the roof with this. I'm so glad he's not with G4 anymore, they were ruining him.
