PlayJam Reveals GameStick's Final Controller Design

by Jeff Cork on Jan 29, 2013 at 02:45 AM

PlayJam has revealed the final controller design for its upcoming GameStick, a game system designed to bring Android-based games to the big screen.

The final design, pictured above, incorporates feedback from the Kickstarter community. Some of those changes include an expandable 32 GB MicroSD slot in the system's HDMI-based stick (which acts as the system and conduit between TVs and the controller) and retooled edges and contours.

GameStick has been another success story for Kickstarter, raising more then $500,000 – more than 500 percent more than the initial funding goal. If you're interested in backing the project, you have less than 70 hours to go. You can get your own GameStick for $79, and systems are scheduled to start shipping this April.

This is the second Android-based system to gain a large amount of support on Kickstarter. The Ouya console raised more than $8 million in its campaign, and developers recently held their first game jam for the console.
