See Yoshi Wii U In Action

Did you skip last week’s Nintendo Direct conference? If so, you lost your first chance to see the new Yoshi yarn game in action. Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered.

It may be brief, but Nintendo showed off a tiny snippet of Yoshi gameplay in last week’s conference. We’ve sliced out the relevant 10 second clip, and you can watch it below. 

When you’re done, hop into the comments and let us know whether you’re excited for the return of Mario’s dinosaur buddy in his own side-scrolling adventure.

    Ah, yes Super Mario World 3: Yoshi's Epic Yarn. It may be just me, but I'm not quite feeling this look for the Yoshi game. It was a nice change of pace for Kirby but to repeat it here dulls its specialness. I'm sure it'll play well. True gameplay sequel to Super Mario World, though, please.

    I hope you're never really that "outline Yoshi" and always get to play as the "solid yarn Yoshi".

    This art style is more suited for Yoshi than for Kirby (especially after Yoshi's Story), but I still dislike the characters looking like they're made out of yarn. For the environment it's fine and dandy, but I'd personally prefer to play with the more original looking characters.

    Edit: Btw I'm pretty excited for this, and I absolutely adored Yoshi's Story when I was little.

    I got some shivers from that music. Yoshi's Island used to be my second favorite game, right after Super Mario World. Mostly because I only owned those two for the longest time, but it still ranks up there. This looks like it'll keep the spirit of that and wrap it up in visuals so sweet they probably taste like cupcakes.

    This game's going to be awesome, but the difficulty just needs to be a step up from Kirby. A lot of fans have said this, so hopefully Nintendo is listening.
