The lights are on
Normand Corbeil, best known in the world of video games for his work with Quantic Dream composing the music for Heavy Rain, has passed away at 56.
The sad news comes from 8bitfix.com. Corbeil was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in August of 2012, and he passed away on Friday January 25. Corbeil did music composition work for many films, and won many awards for his work, including BAFTA and AIAS awards for his work with Heavy Rain. You can check out Corbeil's website for more on his library of work.

Aw. This is disappointing. Too young to die.
RIP. At least you left the world a slightly better place...
That's a shame, his work was fantastic.
That means his cancer must have been very advanced. My condolences go out to his family/loved ones and hopefully he didn't suffer much. But with cancer I think suffering goes hand in hand.
Never played the game but at least he left his mark on this world. Something his family should be very proud of.
Damn. We need more musicians, not less.
this is very depressin. i loved his music in heavy rain and espacially in indigo prophecy
RIP it's a real shame to lose such a great composer.
How sad. I feel for his family. Pancreatic cancer is a hugely tough one to fight. Heavy Rain's soundtrack fit the mood of the game perfectly.
The one part of the game I enjoyed without any negative comments... my sympathies go out to his family.
Also, to the idiots who voted this page down -- jut because the article isn't what you wanted or doesn't feel happy doesn't mean it's a bad quality. All you're doing is saying that being offered a free copy of a game, headset, etc. is more important to you than the fact a human being contributing to a unique game has died. How about you take a minute and think about that, if you're capable of it.
Requiescat in pace. May he live on through his music.
very sad...great composer and you will definitely be missed...requiescat en pace!
This is very sad news. Fantastic composer, and the game I most want to play that I missed out on due to not having a PS3 has been Heavy Rain, and undoubtedly will continue to be. Sony knows how to get killer exclusives, possibly even equal with Nintendo's. I haven't heard this theme before, but it is truly amazing and powerful.
www.youtube.com/watch Here's to you Normand Corbeil
He composed a pretty good soundtrack for one of the few games I've actually enjoyed playing for the last few years.
Hopefully his life was well lived, and may he rest in piece.
man pancreatic cancer moves so fast one of my favorite teachers from high school died from it too
