The lights are on
Earlier this week, the gaming world was talking about THQ constantly, but today's news out of the bankrupt publisher is less frenzied. Maybe that's because it's the last day of work for most employees there.
According to an internal memo provided to IGN, this is the last day THQ's building will be accessible to most employees, and they are being advised to pack up all of their belongings. Whether or not these employees will be compensated for accrued time off (or given any severance pay) is uncertain.
Also, all THQ stock is worthless as of today. All in all, grim news. Our best wishes go out to those affected.
For more about the THQ shutdown, check out our interview with former president Jason Rubin, the podcast discussing the topic, and this rundown of where THQ's studios and properties landed.

:'( I hope they find jobs!
Sad day...
My condolences go out to them.
I miss them already....
I wish them all the best for the future
Emphasis on "most". Wish them the best of luck. And we always have openings for young talent at muppet studios.
Good luck to those who lost their job because of this whole thing, hope they find a good home.
Here's to hoping they get new jobs.
Well, this is bad news. Hopefully they find jobs soon.
best wishes and hoping a new J.O.B. is a short time away
Best of luck to all those affected. Speedy employment to those employees!
I'm not a native speaker but that headline sounds a tad harsh. Best wishes.
It sucks that all these people are losing work, but I'm sure they will transition very well into new roles somewhere. That said, THQ will not be missed by me. Everything this developer churned out was sub par, even their A-game, the Darksiders series, was really just a "me too" action adventure. Just because you bring new things to the equation doesn't mean the market needs more of the same. its the 'meh' quality that signed the death warrant, so really nobody's fault but their own.
Very sad :( I wish all the THQ employees the best of luck!!
