We're Giving Away Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn

We have three copies of the live-action Halo series, and we're going to hand them out for free. The best part? You don't need to do anything hard to win.

To be eligible, all you need to do is post in the comments below and explain who your favorite character is in the entirety of Halo fiction – excluding Master Chief. That choice is just too easy. Submit your comment, and tomorrow we'll select the winners (and get in touch with them through our site).

In case you don't know what you're vying for, Forward Unto Dawn is a web series created to promote Halo 4. We're giving away the Blu-ray edition, which contains the 90-minute main attraction, plus behind-the-scenes features, commentary, interviews, and other extras.

So, if you want to win, pick your favorite non-Master Chief character and explain why he/she is the best!

    My favorite? Sergeant Johnson. He fought in all three games and gave his life for a noble cause. A close second would be Lasky. He seems like a pretty chill guy so far. Hopefully he'll be the next Johnson.

    I actually really liked Laskey from Halo 4. He seemed like one of the most normal and likable characters from the whole franchise.

    I know this is probably not a good answer, but my favorite character is the first Halo Ring. I could feel that ancient, intimidating presence all the time.

    If that doesn't count, I have to go with the Arbiter. He doesn't talk much, but I loved his missions in Halo 2, and he's a humble, courageous soldier with more character than The Big Green Super Suit.

    I have always loved the arbiter. Dishonored man turned zealot follower of the prophets ends up taking them down whilst teaming up with Master Chief. So cool. Plus his voice, so deep.

    My favorite Non-Chief character is Sargent John Forge from Halo Wars. Why? He punched the arbiter in the gut, that's why.

    Carter for sure he sacrificed himself for his team and the mission. He went out like a champ!

    Sgt. Johnson for sure. He has all of the best quotes from the Halo series. My personal favorite is "We got jackals in the courtyard!".

    Lasky. Simply because.....Well.....He's just AWESOME! I love his attitude, he's the shoot first and ask questions later sort of guy. And I really like that about him. I also see him as a someone that will never give up, no matter what the circumstances are. That's another reason why I really like him. And unlike most of the other Halo characters, he's just a normal guy, doing the best he can to help fight off whatever threat the UNSC faces.

    Halsey is amazing. Her motives for creating the Spartan-II program are an intense moral struggle that deals with deeper issues than your average shooter. Not only this, but she treats these Spartans just as her children and would protect them from anything as is evidenced by the beginning of Halo 4

    Cortana. Easily. She is an incredible character and in Halo 4 she showed that she was more than just an assistant to chief, but that she was a real, fleshed out character worth fearing for. I fought though Halo 4 in hoping that everything would be okay, and Cortana would be safe. And what drove me on was my desire to further my relationship with her, and see more of who she really was. She is so freaking awesome.

    the grunts. why? they are the comic relief of Halo. think about it! You're playing on legendary, and you get so frustrated because these giant Dick heads keep beating the crap out of you. you see a little, stupid grunt walk buy and beat the crap out of it! comic relief at its best :)

    My favorite Halo character has to be Romeo from ODST. Why? Because he loves BLOWING SH*T UP!!!!!!!!!!!

    Master Chief. Regardless what you say, he IS the game. Obviously outside the fact he is who you control when you slap on Halo, but the entire series revolves around what he's accomplished and how he's dominated faces over the years. MC Balls Out son. No pun intended.

    I personally like jorge the best. I feel like he goes against the sterotype for giant power armored heros. While he can lay the smackdown on people when needed, he still cares about his company and halsey, even though she remains emotionally removed.
