Major League Gaming Pro Circuit Details Announced

Major League Gaming announced details today for its 10th annual Pro Circuit Winter Season, revealing the date of the winter championship and what games to expect for competition.

This season, League of Legends and Call of Duty: Black Ops II (Xbox 360) are the games of choice. A third game will be revealed in the future.

For Black Ops II competitors, tournaments are already posted on the MLG website, and passes are available on January 29. League of Legends information will trickle out in the coming weeks.

Those interested in the grand finale should note that the MLG Winter Championship takes place this year in Dallas, Texas at the Dallas Convention Center from March 15-17. Spectator passes go on sale in February, but if you want to get a head start, hotel information is already available.

“The Winter Season includes games built for competitive play, an event format and production level unparalleled in the industry and a passionate global fan base that continues to grow. Combine that with our TV-esque online broadcast, and we have everything needed for MLG and eSports to dominate the entertainment industry and appeal to an even broader audience," says Sundance DiGiovanni, CEO and co-founder.

  • I wonder if Halo 4 is the 3rd game, then again they already chose BLOPS2, so why would they need another shooter.
  • i hope the third is AC3, cuse if so, i will be there.
  • League of Legends would be interesting to watch, but Call of Duty Black Ops 2 is not a shocker. They should make the third game Halo 4, at least that is some sort of a challenge.
  • We need more fighting games this year.

  • We need more fighting games this year.

  • it would be nice if they picked up counter strike. you know considering its actually a competitive FPS.

  • Are you kidding me? No Halo 4? Halo is what made MLG.

  • I'm pretty certain the 3rd game will be Starcraft 2 guys.

  • Ya don't get too excited about Halo 4, it's not the third mystery game. CEO Sundance DiGiovanni, already reported that the console FPS contract was signed and it was Black Ops 2. Most likely the game is Starcraft II, although, I'm not sure why they want not announced it, as one of the three titles there. More importantly if you were excited about Halo 4 begin there is probably is not happening this season or next. Halo may forever be gone from MLG because of the deal that Microsoft, 343, and Virgin Mobile Gaming made in late 2012. That is why you see the Sponsored playlists in Halo matchmaking. This season will go down as a heart breaker for the fans who loved Halo, but it was not MLG's decision, there was nothing they could do, someone has the rights to promote competitive gaming with Halo.
  • Am I the only person that thinks the concept of "Major League" gaming is completely ludicrous?
  • Fighting Games are the most interesting to watch

  • Good to know, I know I will be watching some gameplay soon.

  • Well well.

  • BO2 lol, my respect for mlg is just about gone.

  • Black Ops 2? What a joke.
  • BO2? why not halo 4? and that 3rd game. hope its a fighting game, like tekken tag tournament
