Capcom Gives Reasoning For Resident Evil: Revelations Not Coming To Vita

by Kimberley Wallace on Jan 24, 2013 at 10:57 AM

This week Capcom confirmed that Resident Evil: Revelations would no longer just be a 3DS exclusive. But when the roster was announced for the new platforms to support the enhanced version, it seemed like one platform got shunned: The Vita.

Revelations is releasing on Xbox 360, PS3, Wii U and PC, but many people have been longing for more games on the Vita.  Capcom product manager Mike Lunn set the record straight today on why the Vita didn't make the cut on the PlayStation Blog, where he answered user questions in the comments.

As he told a user who questioned its absence, "...we really wanted to hone in on the experience you get with a large format screen, surround sound, etc. This type of setup really helps players get sucked into the horror vibe and enjoy the game to its fullest extent."

But it seems like users still weren't satisfied with that answer and kept on Lunn about their desire for a Vita version. Lunn gave one more final response citing the 3DS and Vita infrastructure and developing for them, "completely different beasts."

Just one look at the comments and it seems like fans still want a Vita version. For now, it doesn't look likely, but at least Lunn offered some perspective instead of completely ignoring fans' request for an answer.

Are you disappointed that Revelations isn't making an appearance on the Vita?
