New THQ Montreal Title Revealed In Auction Details

Only one bid was placed for THQ Montreal during today's auction, and the company went to Ubisoft. We already knew about Turtle Rock's upcoming Evolve and the mysterious 1666, but another name popped up that we hadn't yet heard of.

According to auction filings, another title known as Underdog is also in the works. No additional information has come to light, but we'll be sure to report more as official details come through.

    So many titles with the word 'dog' in them these days. Sheesh.

    Well, guess that auction revealed one telling thing, then. Wonder if those are the real titles or just code-names? Either way, looks like THQ still has a legacy to leave behind. Hope these are good.

    It's an adaptation of the Underdog movie. You know, that one with the superdog that wears a dryer-shrunken sweater and a cape.

    It's the gritty and mature reboot of the classic Underdog cartoon; in video game form!

    The story will be penned by Frank Miller with Clint Eastwood voicing the iconic canine. We'll experience Underdog's brutal origins as he goes from a drug addicted stray mutt whose life is spiraling out of control to the heroic canine the world needs, but not the one it deserves. While Underdog's guerrilla tactics and "fight fire with fire" approach to crimefighting causes society to distrust him at first, they'll soon learn that there is nothing to fear; Underdog is here.

    From what I've heard, the content is so controversial that they're struggling to avoid an Adult Only rating. While I hope that Underdog won't add fuel to the fire of the violent video games debate, some stories simply cannot be censored.

    Glad Ubisoft picked them up they continually make great games and hopefully they can continue what THQ started in Montreal .
