The lights are on
Today, THQ's assets were sold off to the highest bidders, and unfortunately that did not include Vigil and the Darksiders franchise. We heard from Vigil's combat designer Ben Cureton about the unfortunate circumstance, and now Darksiders II lead designer Haydn Dalton has tweeted about what may have been Darksiders III.
Dalton said on Twitter, "There was a shimmer on a slither of hope, that at one point, there'd be a Darksiders III: 4 Player Co-Op; It rode off into the sunset today."
Dalton appeared on episode of Replay right before the release of Darksiders II last year. You can check out the episode below.

***.
I played the first one and have been meaning to get through the second. I guess there's no point in that now.
This is most unfortunate. Out of all the franchises THQ owned, I was darn sure Darksiders would be picked up by someone. I truly enjoyed it and was looking forward to the future for Darksiders III. All of my sympathy and thoughts go out to all of the people at Vigil Games. Their hard work and passion for Darksiders was definitely visible, and it's a major shame they can't continue that. What a sad day indeed.
Its unfortunate that Vigil games was not bought. Anyways I knew the third game was going to be 4 player co op that would've been awesome.
Hmm.. why do I got a knot in my throat...
Wow, Klepek wasted no time.
**BRAAAHHHH**! LOVED Darksiders I and II.
OH MY GOD!!! Glorious 4 player hack&slash, this is too painful to read! Isn't platinum games interested ... someone? anyone? PLEASE!!
This sucks!!!
I can't believe nobody picked this franchise/studio up today. What a waste. I loved Vigil and Darksiders/Darksiders II are some of my favorite games.
