Special Editions Revealed For The Last Of Us

The Last of Us tells the tale of unlikely pair Joel and Ellie, and the game is also bringing together two special editions for fans.

The Official PlayStation Blog lists the Survival Edition and the Post-Pandemic Edition, both of which will come out with the game's regular release on May 7th for the PS3.

The Survival Edition ($79.99, above)

  • The Art of The Last of Us - a 170-page art book by Dark Horse
  • The Last of Us: American Dreams issue #1 comic book by Dark Horse (with artist Faith Erin Hicks and the game's creative director Neil Druckmann). Explores Ellie's backstory and comes with a variant cover
  • Steelbook game case w/ the game
  • Sights & Sounds DLC pack w/ Gustavo Santaolalla's soundtrack, a PS3 dynamic theme, and PSN avatars for Winter Joel & Ellie
  • Naughty Dog chrome stickers

The Post-Pandemic Edition ($159.99, below. Only at GameStop)

  • All the contents of the Survival Edition – EXCEPT the art book
  • 12" statue by Project Triforce
  • The Survival DLC pack that includes multiplayer bonuses (bonus XP, a melee booster, in-game currency, and customizable character items) and bonus Joel and Ellie skins once the single-player is completed.

    Both versions are pretty sweet but I'm totally going to save up for the post-pandemic edition! I could get the artbook off Amazon when it releases. ^_^

    Ok... this looks really cool. I'm not really a collector though so not going to buy this, I just like to play the games without all the fluff clogging up my place. Still awesome though.

    Can't wait to play it though.

    I wish I could get the Post-Pandemic Edition but being in the UK I guess I'll have to pass. Don't like owning NTSC versions of games for obvious reasons.

    Ohhh ho ho ho.... I'm gonna have to get one of those, right quick.  Now, if only I could get a full-time job... I'd kill to be able to just write about video games all day.

    For $160 the artbook should be included. What's that statue even made of? I'm sure I will still buy the Post-Pandemic Edition though.

    I don't generally buy collectors' editions anymore, but the survival edition I will definitely get! Can't wait for this game.

    Post-Pandemic it is. This is my third collectors edition this year smh. It wouldve been 4 but Gamestop sold out of Bioshock Infinite ones.

    I love Naughty Dog and all, and would get the Post-Pandemic Edition IF they would include the artbook. Seriously, it would probably be cheapter to just buy the Survival Edition and then go to Ebay to buy the statue on its own. For 160 dollars I feel that the artbook should definitely be apart of the package.
