South Park Digital Studios Objects To THQ's Sale Of Game

The auctioning off of THQ properties happens today, but the interactive wing of the South Park empire has filed a motion objecting to the possible sale of The Stick of Truth.

Documents sent by THQ show South Park Digital has filed a complaint that objects to the sale and says that South Park Digital Studios has the right to acquire all elements of the game and shop them to publishers itself.

THQ refutes this claim citing the original contract with the studio.

The pair are apparently hashing out their differences in advance of the auction.

    Sigh. Please don't let this spin into some internal fine print BS. Obsidian deserves this game to come out, as well as me (especially me).

    It kind of makes sense.If the games sold, then the new publisher might make them change the game and that means DELAYS!

    I hope they get everything figured out soon. This could be a huge win if THQ holds onto it--possibly a way of keeping afloat.

    NO! Please! Obsedian always gets screwed on publishing deals. These guys always make awesome games in the shortest amount of time... and then people complain about the bugs in the game. Please, for once, let them finish this game and sell the way they originally intended to sell it.

    Oh great, now the game is gonna be delayed even more now most likely. Great... If the game goes anywhere I would like to see it go to Bethesda Studios. I would like it even more if it stayed at THQ but doesn't look like that will happen. :(
