The lights are on
Tucked away at the bottom of a recent Halo Waypoint news post is the unfortunate news that Halo 2's PC multiplayer servers are going down in February.
The PC version of Halo 2 released back in 2007, three years after the Xbox version of Halo 2. The servers are officially shutting down on February 15. One of the reasons the servers are going down is that in the last few months the number of players has been capping out at only 20 or fewer, so it's not hard to understand why they're going down.

Shame, my favorite halo
wow this is actually kind of sad. it's kind of like SW Galaxies, and Metal Gear Online shutting down their servers... i was actually hoping to bust out my copy for a bit of nostalgic rush pretty soon. that plan just got promoted to tomorrow.
It's cool that even after all these years there are still people dedicated enough to keep playing this online.
