Weekend Warrior 01/18/13

by Ben Reeves on Jan 18, 2013 at 01:00 PM

This weekend many of us will be keeping up on our resolutions to play more games by cracking into DmC, prepping for the release of Dead Space 3, and playing passed over games from last year.

Tim Turi: Stop the presses! Dishonored, Assassin’s Creed 3, and Borderlands 2 have all been delayed indefinitely. I’m chasing down inspiration and a new tryst. I’ve been suddenly inspired to dive deeper in the Dead Space franchise, which means finally getting around to my super-hard playthroughs of 1 & 2, along with absorbing some extended fiction. I also got Devil May Cry, so I’ll be cracking into that soon, as well.

Kyle Hilliard: I’m hoping to start up a playthrough of Devil May Cry, but I may just continue my Far Cry 3 journey. I also hear that the second season of The Increasingly Poor Decisions of Todd Margaret has appeared on Netflix, and Jeff Cork assures me that the second season is as good as the first, and it’s a quick watch. So that will probably happen.

Ben Hanson: This weekend I'm going to continue my love affair with Devi May Cry. It is refreshing to play a fun action game. If I have some time outside of that I may continue playing through the first Paper Mario on virtual console or keep plugging away at the surprisingly difficult New Super Mario Bros. U. Good times! Good times?

Jeff Marchiafava: This weekend I hope to keep plugging away at Far Cry 3. I’ve already maxed out most of the crafting options, but I still haven’t traveled to the southern islands yet. Does this game ever end?

Jeff Cork: I’ve been neglecting Sleeping Dogs for too long. This weekend, I’m going to yank it off the shelf and get to work. I watched Dan play it a bunch while he was reviewing it, and I’m looking forward to saving Hong Kong from gangsters and chucking everyone else into the water. And, after reading Kyle’s feature, I’m going to dive back into Darksiders II. I really, really hope that the patch fixed the game-breaking glitch that made me stop playing it.

Jason Pfitzer: This weekend I will be watching the last five episodes of Prison Break, playing the rest of Bioshock 2, and possibly buying DMC. We'll see. Also, I plan converting my bedroom from a landfill into an inhabitable work environment.

Kim Wallace: The NHL is back! My Blackhawks play both Saturday and Sunday, so I’ll definitely be putting my Toews jersey to use. When hockey isn’t dictating my schedule, my goal is to finish off Corpse Party: Book of Shadows. I already feel on edge about what’s to come in Book of Shadows.
