Dead or Alive 5 Plus Features Vita Versus PS3 Multiplayer

Team Ninja is bringing a lot of cross-platform functionality to its Vita port of Dead or Alive 5, including Vita vs. PS3 matches and DLC that works for both systems for one price.

While we weren't especially fond of DOA 5, the effort that's gone into allowing users to have a seamless experience between both version of the game is impressive. Team Ninja claims that cross-platform online multiplayer matches will run at 60 frames per second, and will not suffer from lag or slowdown (we'll have to wait for the review to see if this claim is true).

You'll also be able to share purchased DLC between both platforms, only playing one price. This also holds true for items and content unlocked in the game through play, like the Tina's Legend Swimsuit you earn by completing Legend mode in Arcade. In the future, when new stages are available for download, they will be on both platforms.

DOA 5 Plus will also feature the Cross Play featured in other Vita/PS3 titles, which mean in single player you'll be able to upload and download saves between platforms so you can continue your progress on the go.

  • Glad to see this functionality gaining some traction !

  • Great feature!

  • DOA 5 was alright to me i bought it last month and i like it but could be better. I played the crap out of 4.

  • I just bought the game for my 360, and I have to say its one of the best fighters I've ever played. And the online is lagless destructive fun, unlike 99% of the other fighters.
  • Sweet. I love fighting games ....and I've never tried dead or alive
  • wow!

  • Definitely glad I held off on getting this. The Vita is so good for fighters.

  • nice but ...i don't need to buy it again :/   lovve the game tho altho not as much as i loved doa3 back in the day

  • Everything suffers from lag
  • Congrats your handheld is now a remote

  • Nice. I've been waiting to hear more cross platform play news from Sony. Will be getting this for sure. I like the idea of a fighting game on the go, as well as playing at home to continue the fight.
  • Love this feature.  I hope to see more of it in the future.

  • awesome! can't wait what comes next for vita/ps3 crossplay

  • Pretty impressive feature, really. I don't care at all to get Dead or Alive, but this is great for fans. Wish the boundary between handhelds and consoles were broken more often.

  • Great. Nice to hear that.. if I had to choose myf avorite fighting style in a game it would be deffo a 95% on DOA5 to a 90% in Tekken: Tag Tournament2.. Dot know why, just liked it more than the New Tekken ._.
  • my best friend's sister makes $84 hourly on the computer. She has been unemployed for ten months but last month her income was $21600 just working on the computer for a few hours. Read more on this site http://www.bit90.com

  • This is an epic fighting game and what better way to compete then in a cross-play match. This innovation of mobile meets console is exciting can't wait to see how far it goes.
