The lights are on
Team Ninja is bringing a lot of cross-platform functionality to its Vita port of Dead or Alive 5, including Vita vs. PS3 matches and DLC that works for both systems for one price.
While we weren't especially fond of DOA 5, the effort that's gone into allowing users to have a seamless experience between both version of the game is impressive. Team Ninja claims that cross-platform online multiplayer matches will run at 60 frames per second, and will not suffer from lag or slowdown (we'll have to wait for the review to see if this claim is true).
You'll also be able to share purchased DLC between both platforms, only playing one price. This also holds true for items and content unlocked in the game through play, like the Tina's Legend Swimsuit you earn by completing Legend mode in Arcade. In the future, when new stages are available for download, they will be on both platforms.
DOA 5 Plus will also feature the Cross Play featured in other Vita/PS3 titles, which mean in single player you'll be able to upload and download saves between platforms so you can continue your progress on the go.

Love this feature. I hope to see more of it in the future.
awesome! can't wait what comes next for vita/ps3 crossplay
Pretty impressive feature, really. I don't care at all to get Dead or Alive, but this is great for fans. Wish the boundary between handhelds and consoles were broken more often.
