The lights are on
Apple owners looking for an old-school Final Fantasy experience will be excited to learn that the company is bringing a classic-style RPG to the iPhone and iPad tomorrow.
Yesterday's tease has lead to today's announcement about, Final Fantasy: All the Bravest, is a new adventure that features many of the features and gameplay formulas that FF fans know and love. According to this description on the New Zealand iTunes store the game's combat is "based on the classic Active Time Battle (ATB) system of the Final Fantasy series. Every character possesses an ATB gauge that displays the time remaining until that character can execute an action. When the gauge is full, simply tap or drag your finger over the character to attack. Touch multiple characters in quick succession to experience exhilarating and fast-paced battle unlike anything you’ve ever played before!"
There will be over 20 different jobs, including favorites like warrior, monk, and red mage. To increase the classic vibe, there will also be over 30 musical tracks that longtime fans of the FF series will recognize. It will also feature global leaderboards, achievements, and an in-game shop that will allow you to purchase 35 new characters from past FF games and, eventually, entire new stages of the game.
Right now, the game is listed in New Zealand for $5.29, which converts to $4.25 in U.S. dollars.

So it's a FF greatest hits edition? Could be good as long as it doesn't end up episodic and $40.
I miss the old school rpg's. Definitely picking this one up.
Lots of people are trashing this but I think it looks cool. Unfortunately, I do not own an iPhone, iPad, iPod or iPoodle so iWontPlayIt.
Saw the other article first where the true nature of this game is revealed. If I saw this first, I may have been more interested. I'd rather not be nickeled and dimed to death.
Sweet. Something to do when I can't use a real gaming device.
