The lights are on
Apple owners looking for an old-school Final Fantasy experience will be excited to learn that the company is bringing a classic-style RPG to the iPhone and iPad tomorrow.
Yesterday's tease has lead to today's announcement about, Final Fantasy: All the Bravest, is a new adventure that features many of the features and gameplay formulas that FF fans know and love. According to this description on the New Zealand iTunes store the game's combat is "based on the classic Active Time Battle (ATB) system of the Final Fantasy series. Every character possesses an ATB gauge that displays the time remaining until that character can execute an action. When the gauge is full, simply tap or drag your finger over the character to attack. Touch multiple characters in quick succession to experience exhilarating and fast-paced battle unlike anything you’ve ever played before!"
There will be over 20 different jobs, including favorites like warrior, monk, and red mage. To increase the classic vibe, there will also be over 30 musical tracks that longtime fans of the FF series will recognize. It will also feature global leaderboards, achievements, and an in-game shop that will allow you to purchase 35 new characters from past FF games and, eventually, entire new stages of the game.
Right now, the game is listed in New Zealand for $5.29, which converts to $4.25 in U.S. dollars.

Between this and the teaser that made me think there was going to be a new Star Ocean game but was merely some browser-based trash, I think SquareEnix has finally convinced me it, like Capcom, no longer wants my money.
Announce something we care about Square, FFX HD or maybe 13 versus? not this ios garbageeeeee
Oh God. Really? This was it? Some *** iOS thing? I thought it was a FF 4-6 collection or something, and for consoles or handhelds. God, Square, get your *** straight.
Both of the major handheld systems have touch screens and online stores. It would be nice to have ports for them also.
Although Final Fantasy is (to me) in a dormant state right now, this looks intresting enough that I might try it out.
I thought All the Bravest would be hinting to a North American release of Bravely Default Flying Fairy on 3DS, which is essentially a traditional style FF game with over world, random encounters, good story and characters, ect. but, no. We get THIS garbage. go screw yourselves, Square.
Hey Square, how about you stop rehashing sprites from old games to make a quick buck and I don't know... release games that you said you would such as FF XIII versus and FFX HD. I know you have multiple teams, but given that it's been about 6 years since versus has been announced and still not even a playable demo I'd say consolidation would be a better option. Can't make money off of games you never release.
While this looks cool and all, I wish Square would announce FFXV already.
Aw c'mon!!! Just make a Final Fantasy game for 3DS and Vita, Square Enix!!!
Sounds pretty awesome to me. It will be mine.
I also wish that Square Enix would release an extra content bundle for their iOS releases that was priced fairly. I heard unlocking the rest of Theatrythme on the iPhone is insanely expensive.
man square enix really hates android devices...
$4.25 for the initial game. and... maybe another $$$ for the add-ons

The bandwagon is strong with this one...
I knew it! I called it! As soon as people caught on to Square's cryptic website with the 1/17 date on it, I said, "I know what it's for: Disappointment". lol. Square never lets me down.
Ugh. "All the Bravest" is such a troll move, you Square-Enix buttholes. You KNOW we're waiting for news on the localization of Bravely Default! A**holes!
Seriously everybody. A mysterious Square website - usually with a countdown timer? These days, that's just code for "stupid iOS or social game". We all have to learn to prepare for the worse and temper our expectations until Square stops letting monkeys run everything over there.
Umm, cool I guess. I just wanted to play FF 5. Or if they put 6 on the iPhone, that'd be great too. This just looks chaotic.
Bahaha I was sort of right in my earlier post when this news was still a teaser. Square should of called this Final Fantasy: Symphony of Copy and Paste
