Killer Is Dead Is A Successor To Killer7 and No More Heroes

by Ben Reeves on Jan 16, 2013 at 02:31 PM

Last year, Suda 51 (Lollipop Chainsaw, Shadows of the Damned) announced he was working on a game called Killer is Dead, but aside from a concept art leak there really hasn't been a lot of info about the game...until now.

According to a Famitsu article written by Suda 51 and translated by Polygon, "It's the first game in the 'assassin' series that Grasshopper Manufacture has worked on in a while, a title that picks up where Killer7 and No More Heroes left off."

Killer is Dead is about a 35-year-old man named Mondo Zappa who is described as a cybernetic James Bond. Zappa uses a sword in one hand, while the other hand is embedded with a technology that can convert into guns, drills, and other objects as players progress through the game. Killer is Dead features a avant-garde shaded graphical style that looks like an updated version of Killer 7.

The game releases in Japan in this summer, so we should start to hear more about a western translation shortly.
