The Year Ahead In Guild Wars 2

MMO Guild Wars 2 has sold more than three million copies, and it's not stopping there. In a new blog post, Colin Johanson, GW 2's game director, talks about some of things the game has in store for fans in 2013.

In a lengthy blog post (with a video included), Johanson talks about bolstering the game's rewards systems, big events, guilds going on missions together, paid server transfers, augmentations to the game's WvW and PvP, and much more.

Johanson closes by saying that Guild Wars 2 will see a relatively small January update that will pave the way for much larger ones in February and March.

  • My most favorite game to play. :)

One of my buddies just joined the game this past weekend. He's loving the game also. It's the first MMORPG I couldn't stop playing.

  • I feel that if GW2 wants to remain relevant they really need to give the game an end game. Recent MMOs have had a nasty habit of putting all their efforts into the leveling experience and ignoring the end game. I had a great time leveling my dude in GW2 but within a week of hitting the cap I was already done with the game, there was nothing to work toward, the dungeon design was pretty bad, and while the WvW pvp was fun it was little more than zerging the base and the wait times to get in were insane(although that might be different now). I would love for them to do something to get me back into GW2 but as it stands now it's just not the kind of MMO I want to play.
  • I've never played this game. Maybe when I get a faster running pc i will

  • This is hands down the MOST polished MMO at launch and continues to impress. I'll be playing this game for years to come. Thanks anet, you've done an amazing job.
  • How about you fix the performance?

  • Haven't played since early Oct. Having no endgame it is really boring other then grinding and spending cash to get legendary equipment, I don't see them doing anything to get me to start playing it again. It's a shame too, I looked forward to this game for years.

  • I'd love to try this game with a few friends but we only like an mmo with good PvP and the PvP in this game sounds awful. No PvP server? Low levels get boosted to max level and given gear and have all stats an things unlocked... What's the point of leveling? Please anyone correct me if i'm wrong on any of these accounts as i'd love to play an mmorpg again and this game looks like it could have been amazing if they had proper PvP.
  • For $60 this game is hard to beat. I've put in over 600 hours, so I definitely got my money's worth. I would like it if they improved the rewards and combat, especially for dungeons, but I can wait for them to fix all that stuff... No subscription fee is a beautiful thang.

  • Been meaning to journey back into the world of Tyria!  I played heavily during release but took a break and spent with with Mists of Pandaria, then went on to my Steam binge followed by lots of Diablo 3.  It feels bout time to boot GW2 back up :p!

  • I may get it before pso2 comes out now that I have a new pc

  • As someone who just recently got into the MMO crowd, I am loving Guild Wars 2 and am excited for the coming year.

As soon as Tera goes free to play in February I will be hopping on that as well :)

  • I prefer GW1 for many reasons.
  • The game is AMAZING to get into but fairly difficult to get back in, imo. I had to stop playing for about three months after 3 weeks of playing, and now I can't seem to get into it that much anymore.

  • It can't get much better, because it's already amazing.

  • Love this game, it is fantastic. One time purchase/no subscription is the way to go.

  • my buddy's half-sister makes $68 hourly on the internet. She has been without work for 6 months but last month her pay check was $18288 just working on the internet for a few hours. Here's the site to read more..http://is.gd/PQHiUa
