Square Prepping A Final Fantasy Thing

What does this image mean? What is Square going to announce on January 17? Is this another mobile port? Is this something bigger? At least we only have to wait two days for answers.

Square recently put up a site with a teaser image for some Final Fantasy announcement that will be happening on January 17.

According to Destructoid, the enemy sprites are from Final Fantasy IV while the heroes come from Final Fantasy V and VI. What could it all mean?

Who knows. All I know is that we will all line up and buy this game. Even to this day, Final Fantasy has a place in my heart.

Those are the behemoth sprites from FF6 and the character sprites look like the black mage, warrior (3 times), thief (twice), knight, and I have no idea what the one in the lower left is. This doesn't really make sense to me but I hope its a new 16-bit Final Fantasy which combines elements from many of the older games.

An HD collection/remake?. . . Don't know what to think, but I only know that it's probably gonna be lamer than what we expect, knowing Squeenix. I just can't allow myself to think too big these days.

FF6 mobile remake i'm hoping. Not another port. A actual enhanced graphics and content remake. Those are the ff6 behemoth sprites. 2 of the characters are locke sprites, 2 are edgar sprites, one of them is a standard blm sprite. and god knows what ever that one on the bottom left corner is ??

Square Enix. I still haven't forgiven you for the whole TWEWY Solo Remix debacle. Rerelease FFVII and FFVIII for the 3DS and we might be cool. Or actually make a game people want. Whichever.
