The lights are on
A writer has been assigned to adapt the Assassin's Creed franchise to the screen, with more vacancies still to be filled.
The Hollywood Reporter says that playwright and up-and-coming writer Michael Lesslie will pen the movie, which will star Micheal Fassbender.
Ubisoft and New Regency are still looking for a director and more producers.

Interesting... I have long awaited a good gamer movie. That DBZ was a complete failure.
Please don't suck!
If Ubisoft can get this thing going and make it really good, all while keeping a hands-on approach, maybe it will start a new trend throughout Hollywood in association with video game movies. Here's hoping.
I still doubt this will ever see the light of day.
Please do justice to this franchise. I really don't mind video games being turned into movies, I just would like to see a lot of work go into them like the typical blockbusters.
A well-done Assassin's Creed movie has great potential.
It's a video game movie. It's going to suck.
I enjoy this series too much to be exited about this
Well, one can only hope it doesn't prove terrible.
At least it isn't Uwe Boll.
A playwright?. . . Well, it could either give it quite the poetic touch, or it could make it into a Broadway show. Fingers crossed anyway.
Hopefully they snag a good director for this movie. If done right I can see this becoming a big hit!
