Trademark Resurrected For Ubisoft's Long-Dormant Killing Day

Back at E3 2005, Sony showed off plenty of new footage of upcoming games for the Playstation 3. One such game was Ubisoft's Killing Day, an FPS with a heavy emphasis on dual-wielding (if the trailer is any indication). The trademark for the game has fluctuated from abandoned to revived a few times since then, but most signs pointed to an all-out cancellation. Based on a recent trademark filing, that may not be the case.

A recent filing at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office indicates that Ubisoft hasn't completely forgotten about or given up on the game. It's far from a confirmation of an upcoming release for the title, however, as Ubisoft declined to comment on the issue.

  • hopefully it's coming out. watching the trailer at e3 really made me want this game. hopefully it comes out seeing how mostly all third party exclusive games for the ps3 got lost.
  • I remember this game vaguely.

  • Interesting...

  • the graphics look like crap even for 2005 standards...
  • Never heard of this before.

  • Doesn't ring a bell but the title is pretty cool. It's Killing Day!
  • ...intresting

  • Would not surprise me. Remember Dead Island.

  • Never even heard of this game

  • I wonder if this game would become a digital only release, like I Am Alive.

  • Never heard of it, are these guys really developing bottom of the barrel games ahead of Beyond good and evil 2. I've never played the original game but more people seem to want another Beyond good and evil so making this "Killing day" seems like a slap in the face to those fans.

  • I didn't know that this existed.

  • I forgot all about this game, now I want it.

  • If it still has that awesome statue and gangster style gun holding, count me in.

  • Could be an interesting game almost like Mafia or Stranglehold sounds like.

  • I have never about this game

  • Never heard of it, but looks nice for 2005. It really should be something worthy of a revival with that kind of gameplay. Weird how the character just kinda stare at the screen blankly at the end. Real cool way to introduce your protagonist. Afraid I'm gonna need more than just the IDEA of duel-wielding for this game. . .

  • I remember hearing about this when the 360 first came out lol that was a long time ago

  • When I first saw that pic, I was like...did they seriously put Tom Hardy in a videogame? :P
