CES 2013 Was Biggest In 45+ Year History

According to a press release from the Consumer Electronics Association, this year's CES convention in Las Vegas was the biggest in the show's nearly 50-year history. While this year's 150,000 attendees didn't break last year's attendance record of 153,000, it managed to top 2012 in terms of overall floor space.

In 2012, the Vegas convention had 1.86 million square feet dedicated to all the new technology on display. This year, CES topped itself with 1.92 million square feet of real estate.

  • I would love to attend events like these...just to bring out my nerd side of me and meet new people
  • Bigger, in terms of floor space - less successful, given the decrease of 2% in attendance despite the 3.2% increase in floor space. I suppose it's a wash?
  • Looks like a blast. It also looks like you can't walk 2 feet without shoulder bumping someone. Worth it.
  • 3k less ppl  yet more floor space ? ..  well idk about you but it still looks packed to me so i don't think it did too bad anyway

  • I wish that I was there. There was some really nice technology announced at that show (I loved the Windows 8 tablets, 4k TVs, and OLED TVs.). There have been better years at CES before, though.
  • I want to go to there.
  • It was so misleading. LOL Made me think they were talking about attendence in the title. Wasnt until I finished reading did we find out.
  • One of the things that sucks about living in Alaska is not being able to just drive to one of these events.

  • That's still a crapload of people, lol.

  • One of these looks like a lot of fun.

  • Goodness.

  • Sweet!

  • More floorspace?!!!? GET THE *** OUT OF HERE!!!
