Warner Bros. Registers A Number Of Batman Arkham Domain Names

Warner Bros. just went a domain name registration spree, any of which could be a hint at a new Batman game, or film.

All of the registered domain names have the word Arkham within them. The logical assumption is that one of these web sites may be the official future home of a new Batman game. However, with Nolan's Batman film trilogy complete, the next step in the film world may be to tackle a film version of a popular Batman franchise: Arkham. It's Batman, and it already has universal appeal thanks to the good will generated from the video game.

Check out the full list of registered domain names below.

  • Well cool stuff, I can kind of guess what one of these sites would be used for.

  • Good luck guessing the right one, I would personally go with Super Arkham World 2: Yoshi's Island.
  • That's awesome! I hope for the best for all of those things!

  • I'm putting my money that the next game is going to be called Batman: Arkham Universe but could Arkham Origins possibly be a prequel?
  • Awesome! I've been anticipating a new Batman game from Rocksteady to be announced. But does it specifically need to have the name "Arkham" in it? I fear it will make the next game's title sound weird.
  • Maybe they'll use the Grant Morrison story Arkham Asylum as a base for a new game.
  • Most of those sound like MMOs rather than console/movie titles.
  • Without the Joker, I can't play it.
  • The fact that 5 of them are variants featuring Universe have me thinking that is the most likely candidate for a new core Batman game while the rest seem more anti-squatter domain protection. Origins and Stories are interesting because they could be hints that WB is considering developing for portable systems/downloadable titles.
  • i like batman arkham origins and batman arkham stories
  • Arkham games push PC hardware well for a multiplatform game :) Of the first game: http://i.imgur.com/NVlST.jpg
  • Awesome. I hope they come out with a new game.
  • Most of them are just versions of the same name, so my guess is over half of those websites will have the duty of redirecting people. More batman is always good. At the very least, we'll create a few memes out of the new media.

  • Enough Arkham, gives us GOTHAM!
  • I'm sure none of these will be used, especially since some of them just sound really dumb. I remember when Activision was registering all sorts of "Future Warfare" domains.
  • Whatever the next game will be should come with preorder bonuses for their future Facebook game,"Arkhamville".

  • Wasn't the rumor it was going to be a "origin game" or something involving an "old school" Batman? Either way, each Arkham game has been better than the one before, I'm good with a new game.
  • One of these is a stupid phone game I just know it.

I'm shocked there's no Gotham City. I'd love to fly around there with regular citzens walking about and not just murderous pushovers who wanna kill me.

I 'd love it if they did something super crazy and Comic booky like vampire Batman or Batman vs Darkseid. Just go all the way with it and stop teasing us with hints.
  • Batman arkham universe? A possibility of playing Batman in Space? Considering comics it is not that far fetch.
  • Most of these seem to just be covering already trodden ground discussed as potential for the sequels. We'll either see a prequel or a sequel that expand either on the story (which I hope gets an improvement over City -- yes, the plot has issues, I made a blog post about it if my statement seems so unfounded to you) or the scale of the game. Honestly, I am still really wanting a co-op mode with Robin. At first, it sounded like a bad idea, but now, after having played both games again, I have to say that the idea sounds intriguing. Considering how the game already is timing based, I see team finishers and combo move combinations that would allow for crazy fantastic fun. Granted, you could even make that be the old-school game. Focus it on Dick and Bruce when they were just starting out, and flesh them both out as characters. For those who aren't interested in the origins or co-op, then you've got the bigger scale Arkham game to follow up City. You get to have two cakes and eat both at your own leisure.
