The lights are on
In this proof-of-concept "spec film," Blue Core Studios intends to show its plans for a not-for-profit Sonic the Hedgehog film that uses both live actors and CG animation. The studio has even enlisted the talents of Sonic voice-acting vet (and Urkel actor) Jaleel White.
The team hopes to get this project in full development soon, so check out Blue Core's Facebook page, and the film's Facebook page. You can help them fund the project by buying stuff at their online store.
This 18-minute clip was directed by Eddie Lebron, who also directed another fan film, Mega Man.

*Cue faintings of diluted modern sonic fans*
Ya'know this was pretty cool, I admit.
Well... I guess if it's fan-made...
Can't imagine a Sonic film - I mean, once Sonic started involving humans beyond Robotnik the series had jumped the shark. Not something that translates easy to film.
Jaleel White? the Guy who did the voice of Sonic in all the old cartoons? Ok, I'm impressed. I wonder if chili dogs are brought up in this...
My god, I could barely get past the first five minutes. This movie is BEYOND stupid.
the idea is not bad but too cliche...to me a movie for sonic or halo should be in full cgi...
Ok from the standpoint of a fanwork with no money pretty much then its a decent little short film for what it was.
From a sonic fan standpoint I did like they got JW in it but the animation is ahwahfwa bad :/ I would like to see sonic in a cg movie but more along the lines of the quality of cg *i said cg you twits* of sonic 06 and unleashed.
For being fan made this was pretty cool! Imagine if it had a good budget! I'd definitely see this.
