The lights are on
2K Sports is making a surprise return to the big leagues with the announcement of Major League Baseball 2K13 on Xbox 360 and PS3. Previously, the publisher looked certain to not renew its licensing rights as the exclusive third-party publisher for MLB titles on consoles.
Visual Concepts is developing the game, which will come out on March 5 (featuring Tampa Bay Rays pitcher David Price). Also returning is the franchise's $1 million Perfect Pitch Challenge.
Last spring, publisher 2K said that it was not expecting to renew its MLB license, as it was an admitted money loser for them given the cost of the license itself.
Today, in a press release, Jason Argent, vice president of marketing at 2K Sports, shed a little light on the subject. "We’d like to thank our league partners for their support in helping us reach an agreement to bring back MLB 2K," he said.
Any terms regarding 2K and MLB's new deal were not disclosed. We'll update you on the situation if we find out any more info.

Glad to hear they are still able to make this game. Even though I play The Show, I would have felt bad as a baseball fan to know that the only baseball video game this year would have been a PS3 exclusive.
We will see how good it is. Visual Concepts makes Basketball great so I have some hopes for this game.
Thank god. Now I don't have to buy a PS3 just to play a baseball game
madden should make pc version like MLB2k
Good for them. Hopefully they can get a formula working that can rival their NBA games. The Show is usually good, but it would be better if there was some competition in the baseball world. More competition usually equals a better product. Here's hoping.
As a Rays fan, I can say that I will be buying this as soon as I scrape together $60.
Hopefully it will be good like the NBA2K games
I'm sorry but 2K makes God awful baseball games.
Worst Baseball Franchise EVER. Let it DIE already!!!
but no pc release :(
Just give me NFL2K for goodness sakes....please, please. 2K5 still beats every Madden every year
Wow.
2K makes an amazingly great basketball game, hows the baseball counterpart?
