The lights are on
Catching 'em all is certainly a big part of the Pokémon lineage, but even the most successful trainer starts small. The October release of Pokémon X and Pokémon Y seems far away, but it's not too early to start planning. For instance, which of the three starter creatures are you going to be picking?
The three Pokémon below fall under the reliable fire-, water-, and grass-type starter templates. It's tough to analyze them from just the images below, but the fact that Froakie is one of the three candidates it much easier. Froakie it is.
What do you think? Do any of these guys jump out at you?

I'm partial to fire type starters and Fennekin looks interesting.
I swear to god if the last evolution of fennekin turns out to be fire and fighting, I'm gonna disown it and pick chespin.
These are some pretty decent starter Pokemon. I'm not a big fan of Chespin, but Froakie and Fenniken are pretty awesome. I'll start with Froakie with my copy of Pokemon X, and I'll start with Fenniken with my copy of Pokemon Y. I can't wait!

Aren't Pokemon supposed to be new and unique or have they ran out of creatures to use? Just they'll be lots of frogs in the game now. (see Poli-pokemon like Politoed).
Sounds like a cool way to change up game play. You would know what I mean if you watched the trailer.

I dunno Froakie maybe they are all pretty cool. On a side note the Pokemon X & Y legendaries would be cool if they didn't overtly make them look like an X and Y that is some powerful dumb right there.
The grass starter name is going to be named Seelo green

Froakie for me.That grass type doesn't have a chance, it looks just like Bunnery.
I pick my starter based on their evolutions. Some of them don't look too impressive until you see how awesome they become.
I personally like the Chespin the best, but I wish they showed there final evolutions.
