The Vita version of the campy alien slaying game has arrived. Investigate the trailer.

Earth Defense Force may not have the biggest fan following, but its defenders are fervent in their enthusiasm for the crazy alien invasion B-movie vibe. The new portable Vita version is now available for download on PlayStation Network, and we’ve got a new trailer to help show off what you can look forward to.

The remastered Vita version is more than a straight port of the Xbox 360 release. Instead, returning players can expect to find seven new levels and the added ability to play the Pale Wing class, which lets you fly through stages as you blast the bad guys. In addition, EDF 2017 Portable now allows for cooperative or competitive four-player online play.

Dont let the horrible graphics and sound fool you. I played this on the 360, and it is one of the most addictive games ever. Also great co-op experience. Not to mention, those 6 achievments were some of the most challenging on the xbox. Very entertaining game

Boy I just love reading those comments "Looks fun but the graphics look terrible". Really if we are to be honest. A lot of the greatest games we all have played look like crap now. Yet we play them still as they are fun. EDF is a clear point that it may not be pretty game but it has to have great game play and a sense of challenge that makes up for it. So judging a book by its cover is what you like to do? Go for it. You'll always miss those rough diamonds that are pure classics. I should TRULY pick up one of these games as I have seen them and thought about it and talked myself out of it as I had other games I needed to play and it wasn't on my list. So now I will say right here "I will pick it up and play it" and most likely put my own view on it.
