February Cover Revealed: Lego Marvel Super Heroes

Some said a collaboration between Marvel and TT Games could never happen. Apparently, nobody told the studio behind the popular series of Lego games. After all, Warner Bros. is the parent company of both TT Games and DC Comics, which made many people assume that a Marvel Lego game was off the table. As our cover story shows, those people were wrong. Our February issue delves into Lego Marvel Super Heroes, a new game that’s the result of those unlikely partnerships. Our extended feature focuses on all things Lego, including the exciting new Marvel game, a deeper look at Lego City Undercover, and loads of information about the studio that started it all.

Above: Watch our trailer for the upcoming month of Lego Marvel Super Heroes coverage.

Elsewhere in the issue, we’ve got new previews of long-awaited games including Gears of War: Judgment and Crysis 3. Tim Turi also helps us celebrate Mega Man’s 25th anniversary with a four-page Classic GI feature. Twenty-five years? Has it really been that long? That’s all in addition to the reviews, columns, and other exclusive information you’ve come to expect from Game Informer.

Take a look at our cover below.

If you’re a print subscriber, you should receive your copy of the February issue in the next two weeks. There is, however, a quicker alternative if you’re impatient. Digital subscribers can access the PC/Mac, iPad, or Android editions around 2 p.m. Central Time. We’ll give you a heads up exactly when it does go live, so check back for updates on this post or follow us on Twitter. In the meantime, update your apps!

  • I've been wanting to play a LEGO game... If GI's doing a cover, I'll probably make it this one!
  • Sounds interesting. Though, I wouldn't have minded seeing a next gen game revel on the cover, such as Watch Dogs. I suppose those hopes will have to wait a few more months.
  • Looking like a great issue already.  I am really itching to read Tim Turi's retrospective on Mega Man.

  • I'm surprised that WB is allowing this but oh well a Lego Marvel game will be awesome. Lego Deadpool with all those studs made me laugh.
  • Not what I was expecting at all, but color me intrigued. I can definitely see how using Marvel characters in a Lego game can prove to be fun. I will be very interested to read more and see some nice video footage on this game.
  • Will this Lego version be able to compete with the "Marvel Heroes" title coming to PC this year?
  • Love it. Deadpool deadpool!!!!! He's gonna be all like "hey we're in Lego form" nonono were made out of plastic bricks?

i hope the x-men are in here, i can't wait to roll around in a wheelchair reading minds!
  • Cool Lego games rock. I just hope it wont be too slimier to Lego Batman 2.

Oh and also please no more co-op achievements. I have every achievement in DC but the co-op one that I cant get because it has to online co-op. So please no, seeing 1 missing achievement I cant get is like the game giving me the finger.
  • Eh, never the biggest fan of Lego games, I was hoping for something a little more "wowing" I suppose this month. I just have a feeling this will essentially be "Lego Batman" with a Marvel coat of paint and more of an emphasis on the group of heroes rather than an individual.
  • so i guess lego games aren't going to stop or take a break? way too many of these games.
  • Man, TT Games is on a roll. We've gotten 4 great  Lego games in the past two years. I'm freaking excited for this one, and I have my complete confidence in TT Games to deliver again.

  • Really? Wow, never expected that. *Sigh* No Fallout 4 this month... Anyway, I'm interested. For a Lego game to be a cover story is just... unexpected.
  • Well that's... a bit of a letdown. I'm sure it will be good. The LEGO games are always good. It's not the norm I suppose. I was expecting something more along the lines of Lost Planet 3 or maybe a new Wii-U exclusive like Bayonetta 2.
  • I called this after the Lego Batman 2: DC SUPER HEROES game came out. I even stated sarcastically that it should be called MARVEL SUPER HEROES. Looks like i was right. Not surprising since i'm ALWAYS right!!
  • I own and love all of the Lego games, but can already say with certainty that this will be my personal favorite.

  • Well this was..... unexpected.
  • Awesome! !!

  • I'm so excited for this. I've been hoping for a LEGO Marvel game for a while.

  • No Ultimate Alliance 3? :(
  • I'm gonna have to pre-order this for the WiiU!
