The Walking Dead Episode Sales Crack 8.5 Million

Considering it has already generated more than $40 million in revenues, the future is bright for Telltale's adaptation of the Robert Kirklman series.

Speaking to the Wall Street Journal, Telltale Games CEO Dan Connors said the series has moved more than 8.5 milion individual episodes since its launch this past April. Roughly a quarter of those sales were on Apple's iOS platform.

In other Walking Dead news, in another interview with Red Bull, Connors revealed that Telltale is exploring ways to bring your saved games over to the second season.

"Right now we are just starting to form the concept for season two," he said. "This all remains to be seen, but we are definitely figuring out how to carry the saves over."

  • I just beat the game!
  • "Right now we are just starting to form the concept for season two," that means.... SEASON 2!!!!
  • They completely deserve them-Telltale did an amazing job.

  • Wow what a game! Totally blown away! Wonderful job TellTale

  • That's great news. The game was just incredible.

  • I recently finished the first episode for free and it was really well done, and when I get some excess money I'm certain I'll buy the rest!

  • I love this game. Also the article says Robert Kirklman....
  • if season 1 carries over to season 2... just the thought gets me excited!

  • That's impressive! Truly shows that adventure games STILL have a place in our market!

  • great game...one of the best games i've ever played...the moment with clementine at the end of episode 5, will never be forgotten because it was the only time i ever got emotional on a video game...truly a masterpiece...you feel connected to characters, especially clementine and it well deserved game of the year award...if anyone say otherwise, play the game and you'll understand...

  • I have an idea for how they can use out save files in season 2. Though how to phrase it with out spoiling the ending is difficult.
  • What about the people who pirated it for PC? How are they gonna carry the saves?
  • It deserves every single one of those sales. I don't think I've ever been moved by a video game the way I was with this game. I'll definitely be getting season 2. Hopefully, Clementine will be shaped by the lessons my Lee gave her.
  • Sweet that is awesome, congratulations Tell Tale!

  • Spoilers! In the second season you will find out that Lee is brought back from the dead by a shady organization who wants him to recruit a morally grey ragtag team to help fight a new kind of zombies who are spreading the infection through the use of giant wasps. Who lives and who dies during the season depends on how much you interacted with them and whether you took time to help with special tasks around the camp. ALL OF YOUR CHOICES WILL MATTER. In season 3 you will spend the game watching half of your team die to super sad piano music while you run around trying to gather supplies to stop the biggest zombie invasion ever and build a giant nuke. At the end of it you find out that Clementine was actually a spooky ghost who was controlling the zombies the whole time and that zombies are the ultimate solution to wiping out humanity before they can...make zombies. They are a combination of both living and dead and therefore are the ultimate lifeform. You will be presented with a pretty colored choice of how you want the zombies to be dealt with and whether Lee sacrifices himself to stop them.
  • I love the game so much. I never cared about it until I gave it a try when the first episode was free. Then it went on sale a few days later and I bought it in a heartbeat.
