Redesigned Crash Bandicoot Spotted In Vicarious Visions Studio Photo

Update: Vicarious Visions has deleted the photo featuring the mysterious new Crash Bandicoot from its facebook page. Does it mean anything? Or are we reading into it a little bit too much?

Thanks to to JB for pointing out the evaporating photo!

-------------------------

A photo posted on Vicarious Vision's official facebook page of the studio's third annual Game Jam has a poster on the wall that appears to feature a redesigned Crash Bandicoot.

Facebook commenters on the photo pointed out Crash immediately, and NeoGAF user TimmiT posted the image on the message boards. This could be a redesigned Crash for a new game, but it's also possible that Sony's former mascot could be making a cameo in Skylanders, a series Vicarious Visions has helped port to assorted consoles. It could also be a past version of Crash Bandicoot that I simply don't recognize.

What do you think it is?

  • As someone who has three Crash games in their top 10 of all-time, and that's first gaming memories are of CTR, I would rage so hard if they changed Crash into that. He's already had one bad redesign and a a lot of gen 6 and 7 games that sucked. Spare him this pain.
  • I tested a game for these guys! I thought they went out of business.
  • Im betting on skylanders.

  • I've not played that much Crash but I don't like that redesign.
  • Looking at that guys mustache and hair, I'd have to say that poster is actually the original design of crash, and this photo was taken before they changed him to how he actually looked in the games.
  • The top picture looked like it was taken in the 80s with that guy in it as well(ignoring the Skylanders thing on the wall),its only when you see the full pic that you realise its not

  • He looks like a Skylander. His design fits in with other Skylanders (giant hands and big grin), and he is standing on a floating platform with a distinct sky background. And this wouldn't be the first time the two have crossed over before (Spyro Orange and Crash Purple)
  • Looks bad

  • I am fairly skeptical about such things. Whose to say that it isn't along the lines of fan art?
  • i think it's an awful, ugly, fat, stupid looking version of crash bandicoot, drawn by somebody who i hope never has access to the rights to make a CB game. not the the series isn't dead in the water at this point anyway...
  • crash looks like the tazmanian devil from looney tunes in that poster

  • That guy's moustache looks likes something out of a 70s porno.
  • I'm assuming its just a poster for decoration. I don't think it has any real ties to it, other than its a well done piece of art.

  • NEW CRASH!!! NEW CRASH!!! NEW CRASH!!!

    C'MON!!!

PS: Am I the only one that likes this look of Crash? It's way better than the tattoed one.
  • Not a huge fan of this redesign (If it is one)

  • Mr. Mullet is distracting.

  • could have been an early stage of crash we may never know
  • Crash might just be in skylanders due to the fact that he was in spyro orange
  • Well, there was a canceled crash reboot that got into the initial stages of development and that design looks similar to the reboot design, thats all im seeing here, although i could be wrong based on the design the skylanders theory also seems reasonable
