The lights are on
A trailer appeared online recently for Guillermo del Toro's next movie, Pacific Rim, and it featured the voice of GLaDOS from Portal. Del Toro confirmed in an interview with the Toronto Sun that GLaDOS' appearance is Valve approved.
Del Toro said that he is a big fan of the Portal series and sought out the character's voice actor, Ellen McLain, to appear in the film. He approached Valve about throwing in the nod to GLaDOS, and everyone was on board. He also said that in the final film the GLaDOS-ness of McLain's voice will be scaled back. "The filter we’re using is slightly less GLaDOS. Slightly. The one in the trailer I wanted to be full-on GlaDOS," said Del Toro.

Scale it back?! Everyone is an a hole.that's Bologna
That movie looks like pure Giant robot Awesomeness
Actually wondered about that when I saw the trailer earlier, so that's awesome to hear that he would seek out Valve to make it happen. However, my favorite thing about this movie, is that Del Toro out-Michael Bays Michael Bay.
Looks pretty cool and, after all, who doesn't want to see giant badass robots fight giant badass aliens?
I wonder how different the voice in the movie will be from the one in the preview.
HOYL CRAP I SAW THIS PREVIEW IN THE MOVIES AND I WAS TRYING TO TELL ALL MY FRIENDS ABOUT THIS
If this is as good as it looks, he should make an Evangelion movie.
GO GO POWER RANGERS!
del Toro i love your ideas.
Less GLaDOS? Blasphemy!
This movie looks lik it will be aot of fun!
This movie looks awesome, but nothing made me smile more when I heard GLaDOS' voice in the trailer. Just once in that movie, I want her to say to one of the giant creatures, "You monster."
This just reminds me how much I want an awesome big budget blockbuster, totally campy G Gundam movie. "This hand of mine glows with an awesome power..."
we already know that "chicks dig giant robots", who else is gonna use this movie as a quick date
looks like Guillermo del Toro is also a fan of Neon Genesis Evangelion since this pretty much just looks like a live action American version of the anime with some tweaks
