The lights are on
A trailer appeared online recently for Guillermo del Toro's next movie, Pacific Rim, and it featured the voice of GLaDOS from Portal. Del Toro confirmed in an interview with the Toronto Sun that GLaDOS' appearance is Valve approved.
Del Toro said that he is a big fan of the Portal series and sought out the character's voice actor, Ellen McLain, to appear in the film. He approached Valve about throwing in the nod to GLaDOS, and everyone was on board. He also said that in the final film the GLaDOS-ness of McLain's voice will be scaled back. "The filter we’re using is slightly less GLaDOS. Slightly. The one in the trailer I wanted to be full-on GlaDOS," said Del Toro.

Wasn't this already reported on all the sites about 8 to 10 months ago? Did everyone forget already
I love Guillermo del Toro's movies and I love GLaDOS's voice. I guess I really have to see this now.
i've never played portal and i still thought the cameo was cool.
Saw this trailer in theaters.... I was confused as to why GLaDOS was in it haha
Glad to see it's Valve approved and not just stolen!
This is very cool. Can we hope for more video-game character cameos in movies?. . . That'd be the next great trend for film.
I wonder how many people will go to see based off glados being in it
This movie looks pretty darn awesome, it may not be Oscar-worthy but it looks like an amazing popcorn movie. I mean it is basically Power Rangers done for adults. Del Toro is a good director, not the best, but he is good so I look forward to this movie. I also hope that inSANE gets a developer as well.
This is such a Gundam rip off. Also i totally noticed GLaDOS' voice when i watched this trailer a month ago.
i hope you get to see glados too, like a mainframe where the voice comes from is an oscillating circle :)
No recognition for the tip... I guess all the time waiting to see if it got noticed was wasted. Oh well, still my favorite gaming site and I'm sure the reason was because I wasn't the only one to send a tip. That or one of the staff members noticed before I did. Either way no hard feelings, I still love you.
If combustible lemons will make an appearance, then I am sold.
Del Toro is one of the best living directors. Those that aren't familiar with his work should check out his Hellboys and Pan's Labyrinth. The trailer for this film sucked ass, but I'm willing to bet the movie will be awesome based purely on his previous work.
Shame he never got the chance to do Lovecraft justice with his Mountains of Madness project, though.
I GROW THE URGE TO WATCH THIS MOVIE.
And again, some "new" moving pictures about apocalypse. I wish they made next Hellboy movie, at least there was some story and acting.
hope the movie turns out good.
GLaDOS fudge yeah!!!!
