The lights are on
A trailer appeared online recently for Guillermo del Toro's next movie, Pacific Rim, and it featured the voice of GLaDOS from Portal. Del Toro confirmed in an interview with the Toronto Sun that GLaDOS' appearance is Valve approved.
Del Toro said that he is a big fan of the Portal series and sought out the character's voice actor, Ellen McLain, to appear in the film. He approached Valve about throwing in the nod to GLaDOS, and everyone was on board. He also said that in the final film the GLaDOS-ness of McLain's voice will be scaled back. "The filter we’re using is slightly less GLaDOS. Slightly. The one in the trailer I wanted to be full-on GlaDOS," said Del Toro.

That's so awesome.
Awesome. Now I am going to see this movie for sure.
I want to see this movie so bad now!
Pacific Rim is looking like its going to be all kinds of badass...probably my most anticipated film of this year...anything del Toro touches is pure gold it seems
This movie looks...
So the voice in the trailer is different from the voice in the movie. That's BS. Make up your mind.
I saw this trailer in the theaters and I was kinda pissed they took GLaDOS voice. But now that I know it was approved, I guess I'm okay with it. It will still be a little weird.
Good to know.
very cool, and 100% legit
This movie will be Awesome!!!
Woah...I want to see this now. Also GLaDOS voice = awesome. The Portal series is one of my favorite games ever, and is my favorite puzzle game ever.
Calling it now. Humans are going to defeat the giants monsters and save humanity...only for GLaDOS to take full control of the robots and kill everything. Thee End.
Not impressed, yet. I will probably skip this one and watch it later on cable.
Hey, more Glados- can't complain.
