The fan created MMORPG based on the prematurely canceled television show Firefly never seemed to have a chance due to licensing reasons, but it looks like it may release.

The project's Facebook page posted an update recently saying, "With the well wishes of Fox Entertainment Group, we have reactivated the FUO MMORPG Facebook page in preparation for our upcoming kickstart campaign." On developer DarkCryo's website there is currently a countdown timer set to expire in about two weeks. We'll very likely found out more then.

This could cost $100 a month and I will still subscribe! Ok, well, that was a bold faced lie, but still. Firefly was amazing! An MMO in it's universe could be so well done! Somehow, i'd love for a new season to be produced though (maybe like Netflix is doing w/ Arrested Development?). However, with Nathan Fillion doing Castle(which I prefer honestly) it's unlikely we'll see it any time soon.

This is actually pretty exciting. I'm a huge fan of the show, and the Verse seems like a great place to stage a MMO. I might have to help Kickstart this one.

I was about to start watching the show when it got cancelled, im gonna start watching the fringe reboot though. This looks like a great MMORPG idea wise all they need is a good developer to take it, i would love to see Bioware work on it, anything but Jagex please anything but Jagex.

I would put my money behind Star Citizen. It may not be the firely universe but it will be a vast open universe where you can basically do anything you want.

Watched this show finally after seeing Browncoats Unite on the Science channel during the holidays. It was an amazing show that quickly made me sad realizing there is only one season and a film.

Firefly MMO? I loved the established universe in that series! Actually being able to play within it would be pretty awesome. Hopefully they pull this off, I'm definitely curious about this.
